AIB is a reference / demo bank — a working simulation, not a licensed financial institution. No real deposits or funds move through this system. Read more.

About AIB

AIB is a runnable, regulatory-complete bank core where AI agents do the proposing and humans do the disposing — a working simulation of a Liechtenstein/EU bank built to answer a concrete question: what does a bank actually look like when you put autonomous agents inside it and keep it auditable?

What’s real, and what’s simulated

AIB is honest about its edges. This matters more than a long feature list.

Real

The double-entry general ledger ties out. The prudential reports compute live from the GL with a zero-divergent lineage invariant. The execution plane, idempotency, hash-chained audit trail, role-based access control and the model-risk gate are all enforced and tested against a 2,000+ test suite.

Simulated

Connectors are mock by default — no live SWIFT/SEPA/SIC, no CSD/custodian, no live filing channel to a supervisory authority. The xBRL report package is validated but a dry-run filing channel only records gated submissions; no framework reaches a live filing.

Not a licence

A banking licence is granted on capital, people, governance and a passed supervisory exam — not on a codebase. AIB is not currently authorised by any regulator, holds no client funds, and offers no deposit protection. See the full licence-vs-stack position.
